4 Bali Accommodations for Big Groups

I recently travelled to Bali with a group of 10-14 people, and we stayed at some beautiful accommodation! This was the first time I have travelled overseas with a group of friends this big, and it was a wonderful experience all round.

When we choose accommodation we wanted places with big outdoor spaces, lots of lounging areas, bedrooms with bathrooms and in prime locations. All the accommodation we stayed at will be on this list, with the pros and cons attached.

These stays were all reasonably priced and work out to an affordable price when shared amongst a big group. We stayed in Canggu twice, then Ubud and on Nusa Lembongan once, during the duration of our 2-week trip.

1. Villa Swiss – Canggu

Guests: Up to 12 people
Bedrooms: 5
Bathrooms: 5 full, 1 half
PROS: Close to the action, plenty of space, large bedrooms, clean interior
CONS: One bedroom has 2 beds and 1-bathroom, higher price range

This was the first villa we stayed at and the most expensive. However, it had a prime location, close to Finns Beach Club, a mini mart, spa and a short Gojek ride to restaurant’s/bars. The villa is in a complex with many other villas, but it was still very private. There was 24/7 security, cleaners, and a butler as well.

There were 5 bedrooms with 6 large double or queen beds. Each bedroom has a private bathroom with a rainfall shower, the master has a bath. Some of the bathrooms were situated outside, while some were inside, but still had that outdoor feel. The rooms were very large and spacious, each with their own reverse cycle aircon and easy access to the pool. There is one bedroom in this villa that has two beds, one in a loft and one on the ground, this room shares a bathroom.

The communal area consisted of a large lounge, large dining table, kitchen, and open living space. The pool was massive and had plenty of spaces to soak up the sun. There is also a water filter, so you have free water.

2. Villa Bora Bora – Canggu

Guests: 10-14 people
Bedrooms: 5-6
Bathrooms: 4-5 full, 1 half
PROS: Big outdoor area, plenty of places to chill, beachy design, secure location
CONS: 1 shared bathroom between two rooms, water pressure wasn’t the best, located near the rice fields (lots of noise in the morning)

This was the last accommodation we stayed with our time in Bali. This villa too had a good location, only a short Gojek ride to restaurants and bars.  Villa Bora Bora has plenty of outdoor seating areas and a massive pool, which made it a great place to chill for our final days.

There are 5 bedrooms (and a 6th if needed). These bedrooms all had massive double beds, but only 3 had private bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have a connecting bathroom, which was massive. However, this could be a pain as 4 people would be sharing one bathroom. Three of the bedrooms are located inside and two are in huts separate from the main area. Each bedroom has reverse cycle aircon, the master has a balcony overlooking the backyard.

This is a great villa for chilling around the pool and enjoying the outdoor space. However, the bathrooms were a little outdated and the water pressure did need work. This villa was a very good and affordable price, so despite the cons, I would still recommend the Villa Bora Bora to big groups.

This property can be booked on Airbnb.

3. Villa Oasis – Ubud

Guests: 12 people
Bedrooms: 6
Bathrooms: 6 full, 1 half
PROS: Brand new, clean, plenty of space, big pool, private bathrooms in each room
CONS: Nil

If you are looking for a place which is luxurious at an affordable place to stay in Bali, this is the villa for you. This was by far the best accommodation we stayed at in Bali. The villa made you feel like a millionaire, it was gorgeous all around. Plenty of seating places, a massive pool, sunken lounge. It was completely luxe.

There were 6 bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. Most of the bedrooms were the same size, except for the master, which was a little bigger. There is nothing to fault in this villa when it comes to the bedrooms and bathrooms, all of it was top quality.

What my group loved most about this area was the outdoor area. The infinity pool was huge, plus plenty of chairs for everyone to use. The sunken lounge was a great place to relax in the evening and the fairy lights created the perfect atmosphere. There was a large couch and dining table in the area with the kitchen. Plus, there was another outdoor dining space upstairs near the secondary bedrooms.

The service from the hosts with this villa was incredible and you could rent a scooter easily. It was also located only a 10-minute drive from the main town of Ubud, making it easy to get to restaurants and bars. I highly, highly recommend this place to other travellers, and the price was very affordable for what you got!

4. Pondok Frangipani – Nusa Lembongan

Guests: 16 people
Bedrooms: 8
Bathrooms: 8 full
PROS: Whole property to your group, massive pool, big rooms, and comfy beds, connecting restaurant out front
CONS: Showers don’t get very hot

I will never stay anywhere else with a group if I head back to Nusa Lembongan in Bali, the whole experience at this accommodation was incredible. The hosts are extremely helpful, you can rent scooters here at a good price, the restaurant out-front had excellent food (and does room service) and it’s in a great location.

The rooms are all the same, except for 2 which have 2 single beds instead of a queen bed. This is great as sometimes in big groups there can be a fight for the ‘best bedroom’. The rooms were massive, each having their own private bathroom which as well was huge. The rooms also have aircon and TVs with Netflix.

The outdoor area was perfect, the pool was massive with a swim up bar and plenty of places to sit in the sun. Each room also had its own outdoor couch and sitting area. The rooms and facilities are basic, but its everything you need for the island life! It’s also a 10min walk away from the beach or a 5-10min scooter away from bars and restaurants.
