Visiting the Monastery in Petra 🤩 Petra as a w Visiting the Monastery in Petra 🤩

Petra as a whole was one of my top bucket list destinations - the Monastery being high on the list (it did not disappoint)

To get here you will need to walk for roughly 1-1.5hrs from the main entrance gate. There are A LOT of stairs and it is pretty steep 🥾

The views at the end are well worth it! It is much bigger and wilder then the main attraction the treasury - and equally as impressive 🤩

I recommend going early morning, after you’ve visited the treasury- make your way here. It will be a lot cooler, as there isn’t much protection from the sun ☀️

Make sure to explore the many viewpoints of the valleys behind the Monastery too!

This little cave is easily found and spotted when entering the area and makes for some great photos 📸

Is this incredible place on your bucket list?

My favourite places ⬇️

▫️Cradle Mountain National Park
▫️Freycinet National Park
▫️Tasmania National Park
▫️Mount Field National Park
▫️Bruny Island

Hiking Hanson Peak 🥾 If you are visiting Cradl Hiking Hanson Peak 🥾

If you are visiting Cradle Mountain National Park and want a hike with incredible views, that isn’t as strenuous as the summit - this is the hike for you!

In fact, this might have much better views then the summit 👀

The hike starts at the Dove Lake car park and you follow the trail to the left. It has a few steep sections which require use of a metal chain.

It took me 40mins to get to the top from Dove Lake - for me it was a medium hike!

What’s it like summiting Cradle Mountain? The What’s it like summiting Cradle Mountain?

The Cradle Mountain Summit is one of the hardest hikes in the National Park. It is long, steep and requires rock scrambling.

I took this route (which I recommend)

Ronny Creek ➡️ Crater Lakes ➡️ Marion’s Lookout ➡️ Kitchen Hut ➡️ Cradle Mountain Summit ➡️ Horse Track ➡️ Ronny Creek

This allows you to see multiple attractions in one day AND it is a lot easier on the legs.

The summit trail is the most technical part - it requires scrambling over large boulders for about 45mins. There’s heaps of places to grip onto so it is one of the easer rock scrambles I’ve done.

This trail will take 5-8hrs to complete. There is no water in the national park, so bring snacks & water! (Plus sunscreen it gets hot/there is no shelter)

Start before 7am to get a good start before the midday heat and you might even get the summit to yourself like I did!

Any questions about the summit, please ask in the comments ⬇️

The Bridestowe Lavender farm is definitely worth s The Bridestowe Lavender farm is definitely worth stopping at while in Tasmania

You have to pay to enter - but once in you have the opportunity to explore the gardens are your own pace.

There are heaps of photo opportunities here for photographers - I do recommend going early morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowds.

Make sure you try their lavender ice cream and treats too - they are delicious 🤤

Is this on your #aussiebucketlist ?

Hiking Mt Amos TIPS 🥾 You all know I’ve done Hiking Mt Amos TIPS 🥾

You all know I’ve done a lot of hiking, and this is by far one of the most sketchy hikes I’ve done!

It’s only a short hike distance wise but does require a lot of rock scrambling (98% of it)

A few tips ⬇️

🥾 Wear GOOD hiking shoes or something with grip - honestly I went up barefoot for half of it

🌅 It would be incredible for sunset/sunrise - I wouldn’t recommend this if you don’t have hiking experience. The trail is easy to loose. Take a good torch too!

🚷 I wouldn’t take your kids on this one unless they have experience. Also do not recommend if you have bad knees or hips.

🤚 Keep the walking sticks at home - they are useless.

👖 Wear pants that are durable - you will go ass to grass in some areas 😂

☔️ Don’t even attempt during or after rainfall

🌳 Follow the treeline up - use the branches for 3 points of contact. Much easier then trying to grip onto granite rock

It’s a strenuous hike, but definitely worth it for those views!

Is this hike on your #aussiebucketlist ?

Some of my favourite photos I’ve taken to date 🤩

I had perfect conditions when I visited the Dove Lake Boat shed early in the morning.

No wind, clear skies and I had it all to myself.

I highly recommend you park at Ronny Creek car park and walk to Dove Lake before sunrise. The whole lake was covered in fog and when the sun peaked over Cradle Mountain - honestly it was such an incredible experience.

📸 If you are a photographer you are also very likely to get this whole place to yourself at this time!

The first photo may be the BEST photo I’ve ever taken. What are your thoughts?
