Mangorei Heights – is this the best accommodation in New Plymouth?

If you are looking to treat yourself for a few nights, or for a weekend getaway. Mangorei Heights must be on your radar!

I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful accommodation for one night while I was in the Taranaki area. This accommodation offers luxury living at an affordable price. The hosts are very accommodating, and their home offers some of the most incredible views of Mt Taranaki!

The Location

Mangorei Heights is located roughly 20mins from the New Plymouth area. Only 5 mins from the Pouakai Hut/Tarn train head. The accommodation is set on a hill which overlooks lush greenery, offering views of the city lights and ocean.

Towering behind Mangorei Heights is the impressive Mt Taranaki, which is clearly visible from the accommodation on a clear day.

Booking Process

You can book this incredible accommodation on booking.com or on Airbnb . Just type in Mangorei Heights and it will pop up.

This accommodation will cost you $198NZD for 1 night. So for 4 people that only $49.50NZD each, which is a bargain.

The Space

The accommodation can fit up to 4 adults, making it a perfect escape for friends or solo travellers like myself. In one room you will find the bedroom with a double bed. The room has been beautifully decorated with a cosy and welcoming feel. The design of this house has been very thought out. As you have incredible views of Mt Taranaki right from your bedroom window!

The living/dining area is spacious enough for 2 people. The space offers a couch, which can also be turned into a sofa bed. A TV, which includes Netflix and Disney plus and a dining table. The kitchen is fully equipped with a sink, fridge, microwave and a 2 burner stove. All your cooking and cutlery gear is included in the accommodation. There are also more incredible views of Mt Taranaki from the kitchen window.

The bathroom was clean and fresh, but I’ve kept the best for last, the outdoor bathtub! The perfect spot to sit and watch the sun go down. It’s located on the large porch area which is fully protected from the elements. The hosts also include bath salts and a bath bomb. Finishing touches like this are what I love to see in accommodation!

I spent hours out here just enjoying the tub, watching the sun go down and the city lights light up. The tub is also big enough for two people! There are bath robes included in your stay, which can be found under the bed.

Other touches I loved about this place is that breakfast is included. You have the choice of cereal, oats, toast, and multiple spreads. Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate are also included. My favourite additions, which made me feel very special were the wine and fudge! This was a pleasant surprise and made me feel like I was staying in 5-star accommodation.

Verdict

From the booking to check in process, this place was incredible. The hosts were also incredibly accommodating and are there to help you with anything you need. Overall I had an incredible stay. I would absolutely love to stay here again if I am every back in the Taranaki area.
