Esperance is a small town located roughly 700 km from Perth, Western Australia. Here you will find some of the best beaches WA has to offer. Well, in my opinion anyway! This guide will show you my TOP bucket list Esperance Beaches to visit on your next getaway. This guide doesn’t cover the beaches of Cape Le Grand National Park. To find that guide, click here.

11 Mile Lagoon
11 Mile Lagoon, like most of these beaches, is located along the Great Ocean Road just outside of Esperance town. This beach has 2 parts, the lagoon and the beach. On the beachside, if you have a 4WD, you can access this and drive up the coastline. I would recommend looking at tides before commencing on this trip. The lagoon side is more protected from the swell and offers some great shallow waters to swim in. Both beaches have a series of steps leading down to them.

Blue Haven
This is one of my most favourite beaches in WA. The water is calm and protected. The coastline is just amazing. If you are feeling up to it you can venture up the rock to the right of the beach. This path is located to the right of the car park. This beach also has a stairway leading down to it. It is a great spot to capture some pictures.

Wylie Bay
Wylie Bay is located east of Esperance town. A 4WD is recommended, this way you can drive onto the beach and set up camp for the day. However, if you don’t have access to a 4WD you can park on the side of the road and complete the short walk over the dunes to the beach. Just be careful of traffic as this is a 4WD track.

Twilight Beach
The most popular beach in Esperance. This is located very close to Esperance town and gets extremely busy during peak season. This Beach has an impressive rock formation right in the middle of the ocean. A short swim out if you’re up for it. Twilight offers white sand, crystal clear waters and calm seas. This is a great one to bring the whole family. If you are up for it, you can go for a wander on the rocks to the right of the car park. Be careful of waves and the swell if you do.
